Urban Spring Wedding

Spring is such a beautiful time to get married with the delicate flowers, blooming branches, and the hope for a sunny day. No wonder Meg and Davis chose to get married in the spring! This wedding was unique for me in the fact that they booked my services TWO WEEKS before their wedding… Typically, clients book me about 8 months prior to their wedding. I’m so glad I was available to design their florals! My design prompt: all the pink. Meg and Davis tied the knot at a courthouse ceremony and then had their Seattle spring wedding at Metropolist with all their family and friends. It was beautiful!

Tacoma Courthouse Wedding

Early on the day of their courthouse wedding, I drove to Meg and Davis’s house to deliver their bouquet and boutonniere. Meg was busy getting ready for the special day with her hair half curled and makeup in progress. On her front porch, I handed off the precious bridal bouquet, showed her how to hold it, and pointed out where I snuck in a small blue iris, her grandmother’s favorite flower.

Meg and Davis met their immediate family at the Tacoma Courthouse to have their wedding ceremony. As far as courthouses go, this one is STUNNING. I personally loved all the pieces of Chihuly Glass in the building and the pink bouquet complimented everything perfectly. Because the Tacoma Courthouse Union Station isn’t available until 2026 for full weddings, Meg and Davis just did their marriage certificate signing there and then had their reception in Seattle the following day.

Spring Seattle Wedding Reception

With a new day and a new dress (but same bouquet!), Meg and Davis celebrated with family and friends at the Metropolist in the Sodo neighborhood of Seattle. Many of their vendors were eco-conscious—a few, like myself, are members of Emerald Hour, a group inspiring greener weddings. Check them out for resources!

Meg LOVES pink, so pink is what we did! I coordinated her bud vases to go with the rentals provided by Celebrations for Every Season. Meg and Davis didn’t feel like they needed tons of flowers, but they did have their heart set on a hanging installation of cherry blossoms with flower buds raining down. I love a statement piece!

Weddings at the Metropolist

If you’re looking for a bright, industrial space for your wedding, I’d highly recommend Metropolist. The building used to be a large scale crane manufacturing space. The space includes walls and a moveable bar that allows you to configure the space however you like. And my favorite part? They still have a working crane in there which means I can design big, bold hanging installations!

My (other) favorite things about Metropolist:

  • LGBTQIA+ owned and operated

  • Gender neutral bathrooms

  • Fully ADA Accessible

  • Dogs allowed (woo!)

  • 25 ft vaulted ceilings and floor to ceiling windows
